5 Home Remedies for Fast Hair Removal at Home

Removing unwanted body hair can be a real pain, especially if you have a lot of it. Not only does it take patience and persistence to shave/epilate/wax the hair you can reach, but the work multiplies when you have to get rid of the hair on your back, shoulders, buttocks, and other hard-to-reach spots.

Here are 5 home remedies that you can use to quickly get rid of unwanted body hair from the comfort of your own home:-

Turmeric Treatment

Turmeric is a powerful Indian spice that can help to slow hair growth, so it's worth trying this remedy in order to get rid of your body hair.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of turmeric
  • 2 tablespoons of milk

Mix up the milk and turmeric until it has formed a paste. You should be able to apply the mixture to your skin with ease, so make sure it's not too thick. Leave the paste on your face for no more than 20 minutes (the strong spice can burn your skin) before washing it off with warm water.

Note: This remedy is ideal for those trying to get rid of thin, sparse body hair. If your hair is thick and coarse, you should mix ground oats or rice flour into the paste for optimum results.

Raw Papaya Treatment

Papaya Juice

Did you know that papaya contains powerful enzymes that will break down hair follicles and stop the hair from re-growing? It will help to lighten your hairs, making them harder to see and eliminating them slowly. It's also a great skin treatment, useful even for sensitive skin.

Ingredients

  • 1 Papaya
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Turmeric

Peel the papaya, scoop out the seeds, and cut it into small slices. Using a fork or a stick blender, mash the papaya until you have a nice thick paste. Mix the turmeric into the papaya.

Apply the mixture to your body, massaging your skin and muscles gently. Continue the massage for about 15 minutes, after which time you should use warm water to wash off the paste.

Do this a few times per week to lighten hair and slow its growth.

Note: This is ideal for lighter hair. If you want to treat coarse, thick hair, you may need to add some lemon juice into the mixture.

Sugar-Lemon Treatment

Lemons

The citric acid in the lemon will act like bleach, lightening the hair on your body and making them harder to see. The sugar crystals you use will exfoliate your skin, and will help to open the pores for the lemon juice to penetrate the hair follicles. The combination will weaken your hairs, and will make it harder for them to grow back.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of warm water
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

Mix the sugar into the warm water, stirring until most of the crystals have dissolved. There will still be some sugar left, which is a good thing.

Squeeze the lemon into the glass of water, and stir it well to combine. Apply this mixture to your skin, rubbing in the direction of the hairs' "grain". Once you have applied the liquid, let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with warm water. Do this a few times every week, and you should notice drastic changes in your hair growth and color.

Note: This will lighten your body hair--thanks to the bleaching effect--but you'll still need to shave/wax/epilate in order to get rid of it. Once you do, however, the hair will grow back more slowly.

White Pepper-Camphor Treatment

Camphor

This is an extra-strength remedy meant for those with serious amounts of body hair to get rid of. The combination of white pepper and camphor will create a powerful remedy to damage your body hairs, but you need to realize that it's very strong. You should ONLY use it on the skin of your legs, as it is far less sensitive than face, stomach, or back skin.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of Almond Oil
  • 2 tablespoons of white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of camphor

Make sure to use finely ground white pepper, as that will make it easier to apply to your face. Mix the ground pepper into the camphor, adding a few drops of almond oil in order to turn it into a thin paste. Stir well to ensure the ingredients are well combined.

Apply the mixture to your legs, and leave it for ONLY 15 minutes or less. Too long, and you'll burn or irritate your skin. Wash the paste off with warm water, and run a bit of cold water over your skin to reduce irritation or redness.

Note: This works well for most legs, but it can cause pain if left on for too long.

Potato-Lentil Treatment

Potatoes

This Ayurvedic treatment for body hair has been used effectively for centuries in India, and you'll find that it can work wonders for your body hair as well. The potato contains special properties that will help to dry out your skin and hair follicles, and mixing it with the dried lentils will make it easier for the hairs to be pulled out.

Ingredients

  • 1 potato
  • 1 bowl of dried yellow lentils
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 lemon

To begin, soak the yellow lentils in water overnight. This will make them easier to crush into a paste for your treatment.

Crush the potato with a stick blender, or grate it finely with a cheese grater. Place the crushed/grated potato into a strainer, and press with a spoon or your hands to squeeze out all of the juice into a bowl.

Mix that potato juice with the crushed lentils, and stir in the honey and the juice of your lemon. Apply the paste to your body, and let it sit for up to 20 minutes. (If you feel burning, it's time to wash it off!) Remove the paste with your fingers, and you'll find that the hair will likely fall off as you rub away the paste.

Note: This works best on fine hairs, but regular treatments can help to deal with thick, coarse hair as well!
