The Best Electric Razor – Round Up Review

Feeling a bit lost when it comes to choosing the best electric shaver for you? We have come up with a round-up review of the best electric razors on the market. There is definitely something for everyone here!

Best Foil Razor - Braun Series 7 - 790 Pulsonic Electric Shaver

You can read our in-depth review here, but in a few words this is the best foil razor, and all in all the best electric razor currently available.

It is on the high end, with a price just under $180, but it is well worth the investment.

The shaver comes with Braun’s Pulsonic Technology that uses around 10,000 vibrations a minute in order to pick up all hairs; the ActiLift middle trimmer that picks up flat-lying hairs.

Besides, 3 cutting elements to work on all hair lengths, a precision trimmer, 3 modes depending on skin type and Braun’s automatic Clean & Renew system.

The device provides a rapid, clean and smooth shave, contouring the face to capture hairs in even the harder to reach areas.

The unit is fully waterproof so you can rinse it, but is not to be used to wet shave, only dry. The shaver works cordless and charges directly in the stand.

Best Rotary Razor - Philips Norelco Shaver 8100

If you have coarser hair and/or just prefer a rotary shaver the Philips Norelco 8100 is a fantastic choice and our recommendation in terms of best rotary shaver.

Reviewed by us in detail here, this shaver can be used wet and dry which is a great plus when it comes to electric shavers.

The 8000 series comes with all of Philips Norelco’s high end features.

For example the GyroFlex 3D heads that help contour the face perfectly, the UltraTrack shaving heads that pick up all types and lengths of hair easily and the patented Lift & Cut dual blade system that lifts the hair and cuts it below skin level for a perfectly clean shave.

The Philips Norelco Shaver 8100 travels well as it is cordless, works for approximately 50 minutes on a full charge and will charge enough for one shave in three minutes.

It will also automatically adjust voltage which makes it great for travel abroad. At just under $170 it is on the high end, but more than worth it in terms of value and quality.

Best Budget Razor - Philips Norelco PT724/41 Shaver 3100

Retailing at $40, the Philips Norelco PT724/41 Shaver 3100 is a great rotary shaver that provides an excellent and long-lasting shave.

Although it doesn’t come with all of the bells and whistles that the higher end Philips Norelco 8100 or the Braun Series 700, it has more than enough features to satisfy even the seasoned electric shaver.

The ComfortCut shaving heads have rounded edges to provide a close but comfortable and smooth shave, and the Flex and Float System allow the heads to contour the angles of the face and not miss a hair.

It also comes with an integrated pop-up trimmer which is great for trimming sideburns and moustaches.

This rotary shaver is only for use on dry shaves, so you cannot use it in the shower, but it provides a great shave and is also a wonderful option for a shaving newbie due to how easy it is to use.

Best Wet/Dry Electric Razor - Panasonic ES8103S Arc3 Electric Shaver

The excellently priced Panasonic ES8103S Arc3 Electric Shaver retails at $60 and provides an excellent shave, whether wet or dry.

The hypoallergenic, stainless steel blades cut the hair as close as possible to the skin for a smooth shave and the pivoting head does a great job of contouring the face.

The super fast 13,000 RPM motor helps provide a consistent shave, even at the end of the battery power, and the turbo cleaning mode operates at 17,000 RPM to make sure all residue is lifted from the device.

It can be rinsed under running water, no need for a sophisticated cleaning system with this shaver.

The Panasonic ES8103S Arc3 Electric Shaver uses Nano Technology to ensure the sharpest blades, and the blades are angled at 30 degrees to provide the closest shave possible.

As well as being one of the fastest electric razors on the market, it also provides the same quality shave in and out of the shower. It also comes with a pop-up precision trimmer.

Best Travel Razor - Panasonic ES3831K Single Blade Travel Shaver

The Panasonic ES3831K Single Blade Travel Shaver is a great little number that fits perfectly into a small travel pouch and operates on 2 AA batteries, so need to worry about voltage changes with international travel.

It also works great for those who like or need a touch up shave during the day as it barely takes up any room. It runs for approximately 90 minutes on the 2 batteries before they need to be replaced.

The single, nickel-free blade is hypoallergenic and provides a close shave, and the foil is made from stainless steel, so perfect for those with sensitive skin. The shaver has a floating head which is great for contouring the face.

In addition, the shaver can be used wet and dry, and is cleaned by a quick rinse under running water.

A great feature of this nifty little travel razor is the price: at less than $20 it is more than affordable.

Granted, you will need to replace the batteries, but when used as a travel or touch up razor it won’t be necessary to change them very often.
